Softball Recap: Wink Wildcats vs. Ozona Lions
Wink dropped down to 10-4 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Ozona Lions by a score of 5-3. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Viviana Flores spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Teagan Butterfield made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Liliana Mendoza also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
