Soccer Recap: Springfield Southeast Wins Going Away Against Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M

After failing to score in their last contest, Springfield Southeast made sure to put some goals up on the board against Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 6-2 win. It was an even better day for Chloe Crawford as she scored four goals for her team.

Springfield Southeast used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M. Three players got more time on the pitch than they're used to: Emma Schrock (80), Anuoluwapo Odunfa-Jones (80), and Kylie McClure (80). The trio had averaged 30.4, 28.6, and 21.4 minutes respectively before Tuesday's matchup. McClure made the most of the opportunity, putting up one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Springfield Southeast now has a winning record of 9-8-1. As for Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8-7.

Looking ahead, Springfield Southeast will welcome Alton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M, they will take on Rochester at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
