Softball Recap: Hickory Comes Up Short

Hickory fell victim to East Lincoln and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 12-0 to the Mustangs. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Tornadoes' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Hickory saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Halo Frye, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Hickory and nudges their season record down to 6-12. As for East Lincoln, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hickory is set to face off against their familiar foe Bandys at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, East Lincoln will take on rival Maiden at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
