Recap: Knob Noster Panthers vs. Warsaw Wildcats
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Concordia, the Knob Noster Panthers were happy to have found some success on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 55-39 win over Warsaw. This was payback for Knob Noster, who suffered a 38-33 loss the last time these two teams met.
Knob Noster's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ella Goodrich led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Goodrich has scored at least 25% of Knob Noster's points. Another player making a difference was Jenna Buzzanga, who scored 14 points.
Defeat or not, Warsaw got some senior leadership from Angela Konopasek who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds and Rachel Henderson who scored 4 points along with 5 rebounds.
The victory got Knob Noster back to even at 1-1. As for Warsaw, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Knob Noster will head out on the road to face off against Clinton on Wednesday. Clinton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Knob Noster in Missouri (Clinton is ranked 87th, while Knob Noster is ranked 212th). As for Warsaw, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
