Football Recap: Jayden Cowart Leads Liberty Christian's Defense on Friday + How To Watch

While Liberty Christian's victory against Jefferson Forest wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Cavaliers 22-19. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Liberty Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jayden Cowart, Roman Aronson, and Jaxon Manning picked up one apiece. Aronson is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.

Jefferson Forest's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cam Foxx, who rushed for 58 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, and Xander Coleman, who rushed for 28 yards and one TD.

Liberty Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Jefferson Forest, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Liberty Christian and Jefferson Forest should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Bulldogs (ranked tenth) will meet Franklin County (ranked 107th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Jefferson Forest will face off against Amherst County at 7:00 p.m. on October 10 with a big rank advantage (30 vs. 109).
