Basketball Recap: Kouts' Higher State Rank on Full Display on Thursday

Kouts won the last time they faced Boone Grove and things went their way on Thursday too. The Kouts Mustangs & Fillies took down the Boone Grove Wolves 77-60. Given the Mustangs & Fillies 's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Wolves are ranked 375th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Boone Grove lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Andrew Batesole, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave Batesole a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jack Stevens, who posted 17 points.
