Baseball Recap: Dunlap Beats Springfield for Their Third Straight Victory

Dunlap had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against the Springfield Senators by a score of 5-1. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Senators, too.

Dunlap's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Newton, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Eli Michanicou also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Dunlap's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Springfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Dunlap will challenge Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Springfield, they will square off against MacArthur at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
