Baseball Recap: Richland Northeast Comes Up Short

Richland Northeast had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-19 to make it 11. They fell 4-0 to the Ridge View Blazers. The Cavaliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blazers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

As for Ridge View, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-15. The match marked their most dominant victory of the season.

For Ridge View's part, Jacob O'Neil was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave O'Neil a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Ashyr Robinson was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cedric O'Neil, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Richland Northeast nor Ridge View have any future games scheduled.
