Softball Recap: Moravia Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last five matches, Moravia finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tioga Tigers. The game marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Moravia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Davida Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another was Emily Austin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Moravia's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for Tioga, their record is now 4-2.

Moravia and Tioga should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Blue Devils will take on Marathon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (156 vs. 376). Meanwhile, Tioga (ranked 87th) will meet Groton (ranked 384th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
