Baseball Recap: Biggersville Takes a Loss

Biggersville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mantachie Mustangs. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Biggersville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Burnett, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run. The dominant performance gave Burnett a new career-high in hits.

Biggersville's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Mantachie, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 4-9 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Biggersville will take on Alcorn Central at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mantachie, they will challenge Thrasher at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
