Basketball Recap: Giltner Comes Up Short

After soaring to 56 points the game before, Giltner was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Shelton Bulldogs and fell 62-18. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 72-27 loss on February 3rd.

Despite the defeat, Giltner saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Braxton Cady posted six points and eight rebounds.

Shelton was led to victory by Harper Thober and Jaxson Ohlman. Thober en route to 13 points along with six boards and five steals, while Ohlman on his way to 17 points. The dominant performance gave Thober a new career-high in steals. Drake Power was another key player, putting up nine points.

Giltner's loss was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Shelton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-7.

Giltner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shelton, they will face off against Kenesaw at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shelton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Kenesaw likes a good challenge.
