Football Recap: Crestview's Rushing Dominance Continues

Crestview had won nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 9-0 to make it ten. Everything went their way against the Garfield G-Men as they made off with a 42-20 win. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won seven games by 22 points or more so far this season.

Jake Noling had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 127 yards and one score while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 94 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Crestview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 258 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in 19 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Crestview's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Mikey Proctor was another major factor on D, making 19 total tackles and defending one pass.

As for Garfield, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 7-2 record. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Although Garfield took the loss, they still got scores from Devin Bates, Colton Miller, and Ryder Cain.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crestview will square off against LaBrae at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Garfield, they will face off against Brookfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The G-Men will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
