Volleyball Game Preview: Valley Vikings vs. Grandview Eagles

Valley is 2-8 against Grandview since August of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Grandview took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Valley, who comes in off a win.

Valley will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Viburnum, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Blue Jays on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

While Valley might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Viburnum scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-20, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Grandview came up short against St. Vincent on Thursday, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-16, 25-14.

Grandview's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Valley, their win bumped their record up to 10-3-1.

Everything went Valley's way against Grandview when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as Valley made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
