Basketball Recap: Manchester Township Comes Up Short

The Manchester Township Hawks came up short against the Atlantic City Vikings on Saturday and fell 66-55. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Atlantic City to victory were Laila Muniir and Taison Parker. Muniir dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards, while Parker shot 70% from the field on her way to 18 points and seven rebounds. Muniir has become a key player for the Vikings: the team is 11-1 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 3-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayana Frierson, who posted 13 points.

Manchester Township's loss dropped their record down to 6-10-1. As for Atlantic City, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Coming up, Manchester Township will head out on the road to take on Toms River East at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Atlantic City, they will be playing at home against Ocean City at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
