Basketball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Arcadia's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Arcadia unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 42-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Shamrocks are ranked 25th).

Fernando Vazquez Lima was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards for Yuma Catholic. The team also got some help courtesy of Santiago Vazquez Lima, who posted five points along with eight boards and six assists.

Arcadia's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Yuma Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Arcadia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-32 victory against Skyline on the 3rd. As for Yuma Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-60 win against Tolleson on the 3rd.
