Basketball Game Preview: South Gallia Rebels vs. Trimble Tomcats

South Gallia hasn't had much luck against Trimble recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The South Gallia Rebels will welcome the Trimble Tomcats at 1:00 p.m. South Gallia is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.

On Thursday, everything came up roses for South Gallia against Western as the squad secured a 77-16 win. The Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Trimble came up short against Belpre on Thursday and fell 51-41. While losing is never fun, the Tomcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 135th).

South Gallia's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.7 points per game. As for Trimble, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Everything came up roses for South Gallia against Trimble in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, as the team secured a 55-26 win. In that game, South Gallia amassed a halftime lead of 32-10, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
