High school basketball: How to watch Metro Classic headlined by top-ranked prospects Dereck Lively II, D.J. Wagner and Naasir Cunningham

Showdown between No. 1 Sunrise Christian Academy and No. 2 IMG Academy headlines four-day event.

The Metro Classic is the biggest regular season event remaining in the high school basketball season as RWJ Barnabas Health Arena in Toms River, N.J. hosts some of the top teams and players in the nation Thursday through Sunday.

Catch the action live starting Thursday as 12 of the 26 games will be aired on ESPN+ and ESPNU. Other games are expected to air on BallerTV.

Thirteen of the top 30 Class of 2022 prospects are expected to compete in the showcase, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.



Top senior prospects include (No. 1) Duke signee Dereck Lively II of Westtown, (No. 4) Baylor signee Keyonte George, (No. 9) Houston signee Jarace Walker and (No. 17) Alabama signee Jaden Bradley of IMG Academy, (No. 5) Duke signee Dariq Whitehead, (No. 14) Texas signee Dillon Mitchell and (No. 21) Indiana signee Jalen Hood-Schifino of Montverde Academy, (No. 7) Kentucky signee Chris Livingston of Oak Hill Academy and (No. 13) Duke pledge Mark Mitchell and (No. 23) Kansas signee Gradey Dick of Sunrise Christian Academy.

Seven of the top 30 juniors will also take the floor with (No. 1) D.J. Wagner and (No. 21) Aaron Bradshaw of Camden, (No. 2) Kwame Evans Jr. of Montverde Academy, (No. 3) MacKenzie Mgbako of Gill St. Bernard's, (No. 12) Duke commit Caleb Foster of Oak Hill Academy, (No. 13) North Carolina commit Simeon Wilcher of Roselle Catholic and (No. 27) Michigan State pledge Jeremy Fears of La Lumiere representing the Class of 2023.

Although 247Sports has yet to put out its list of top prospects in the Class of 2024, Naasir Cunningham of Gill St. Bernard's is widely considered the top prospect in the sophomore class.

Along with the individual standouts, seven teams ranked in the National Top 20 and three teams ranked in the MaxPreps Top 25 will participate in the event, headlined by a showdown between National Top 20 No. 1 Sunrise Christian Academy versus No. 2 IMG Academy on Saturday night.

Other top contests slated for the stacked event this weekend include battles between MaxPreps Top 25 No. 7 Camden and Gill St. Bernard's along with National Top 20 No. 2 IMG Academy and No. 5 La Lumiere on Thursday, National Top 20 No. 4 Montverde Academy and No. 5 La Lumiere on Friday and National Top 20 No. 8 Oak Hill Academy against MaxPreps Top 25 No. 8 Roselle Catholic on Saturday.

For some teams, the Metro Classic is the last opportunity to put finishing touches on their resumes for GEICO Nationals, while for others it is a measuring stick as postseason play looms just weeks away.
