Franklin-Simpson faced Russellville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Franklin-Simpson took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Russellville. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Jasmine Grover and Addison Shelton did some serious damage despite the final result: Grover went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Shelton went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was Grover's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Woodall, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Franklin-Simpson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2-1. As for Russellville, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
