The Riverview Sharks will challenge the Plant City Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Riverview is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Riverview proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 16) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Bay, sneaking past 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sharks have posted since February 27th.

Riverview let Kara McGuire and Kylie Freeland run wild. McGuire went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI, while Freeland went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Freeland a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Laila Girard, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Riverview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Plant City was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against Sumner, falling 8-2. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Stingrays: they've now lost six in a row.
Kyleigh Meiers was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played.
Plant City's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-5. As for Riverview, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Riverview has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Plant City struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Riverview might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Plant City in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Sharks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
