Baseball Recap: West Columbus Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for West Columbus's offense. They came up short against the Whiteville Wolfpack on Tuesday, falling 7-0. The Vikings' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

West Columbus saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stephen Buffkin, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

West Columbus' loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-6. As for Whiteville, the win keeps they at an undefeated 7-0.

Coming up, Whiteville will face off against Fairmont at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Columbus will be paying especially close attention to Whiteville's game: after Whiteville faces off against Fairmont, they'll take on West Columbus again at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
