Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Brae'ona Smith and Avery Larpenteur Lead Lafayette to Victory

Lafayette won the last time they faced Church Point and things went their way on Saturday too. The Lions walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Bears. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Lafayette was led to victory by Avery Larpenteur and Brae'Ona Smith. Larpenteur had four digs and three aces, while Smith had 14 digs and two assists. That's the most assists Smith has posted since back in September of 2024.

Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Church Point, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Lafayette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Rayne on the 20th. As for Church Point, they are taking a road trip to challenge Marksville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
