Baseball Recap: Platte Valley's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Platte Valley had no problem doing just that on Friday. They skirted past the Fowler Grizzlies 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Broncos sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Dagan Gomez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, Platte Valley's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Flummerfelt, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Platte Valley's victory bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Fowler, with the loss, they broke their 18-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-3.

Platte Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Forge Christian on the 24th. As for Fowler, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Monte Vista on the 24th.
