Volleyball Recap: Midlands STEM Charter Takes a Loss

Midlands STEM Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the McBee Panthers, falling 3-0. The Mavericks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-8, 25-8.

McBee had a senior duo take command as Emma Goff had seven aces and five digs and Emma Winburn had six aces and two blocks. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Winburn.

Midlands STEM Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for McBee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Midlands STEM Charter is set to square off against their familiar foe Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, McBee will face off against rival Riverwalk Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
