Football Recap: Stanton Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Stanton can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 46-6 loss at the hands of the Choctawhatchee Indians. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Blue Devils, who until this game were averaging 12.18 points allowed.

Aiyanna Smiley threw for 74 yards and one TD. Catherine Brewer was her top target, picking up 50 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Diaris Morales had another great game (as she tends to do), throwing for 297 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76.7% of her passes, and also punching in one score on the ground for Choctawhatchee. Morales is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Peyton DiBendetto was Morales' top target, picking up 69 receiving yards and three TDs.

Stanton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Choctawhatchee, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Stanton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Choctawhatchee, they have already played their next contest, a 33-6 victory against Paxon School For Advanced Studies on the 1st.
