Prospect won the last time they faced Del Mar and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Dons. Considering the Panthers have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kendall Tabora was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Tabora wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaylin Perl, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Perl a new career-high. Isa Shields was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
The win made it two in a row for Prospect and bumps their season record up to 7-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Del Mar, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
