Baseball Recap: Lancaster Takes a Loss

Lancaster fell victim to Waxahachie and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Lancaster saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Jimenez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Lancaster has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Waxahachie, they pushed their record up to 17-10 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lancaster will face off against rival DeSoto at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Waxahachie is set to square off against their familiar foe Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 2.9, the Skeeters 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
