Softball Recap: Kosciusko Whippets vs. Ethel Tigers        
        
		
            
 Kosciusko stacked  a  tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Ethel Tigers  a   15-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what Kosciusko needed considering they were shutout in their previous   contest.
  Anna grace Whitehead was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Whitehead has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Whitehead was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run and three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Laura beth Wood was  incredible,  going 3-for-3 with a  triple, two  RBI,  and a  run. Another player making a difference was  Makynlee Dickerson, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Kosciusko has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record  this season. As for Ethel, they now  have a losing record at 8-9.
 Kosciusko will head out on the road to  take on  Yazoo County at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. Yazoo County is coming into the  game with seven straight  victories at home,  so Kosciusko will have to stop a  squad with plenty of momentum. As for Ethel, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Lake at 4:00  p.m.  in their first game  on Friday. Lake knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy  run totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Ethel likes a good challenge.
