Montrose extended their winning streak to eight on Friday, bumping them up to 8-0. They breezed past the Mesa Ridge Grizzlies to the tune of 54-22. The Red Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

As for Mesa Ridge, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Montrose is ranked ninth).

Although Mesa Ridge took the loss, they still got scores from Jakehlan Watts, Tre Salas, and Amari McBroom.

Montrose wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 61-6 victory against Widefield on the 24th. As for Mesa Ridge, they have also already played their next game, a 34-0 win against Doherty on the 24th.
