Basketball Game Preview: Groesbeck Goats vs. Elkhart Elks

The Groesbeck Goats will venture away from home to take on the Elkhart Elks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Groesbeck ended up a good deal behind Mexia and lost 69-54. While losing is never fun, the Goats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1150th, while the Black Cats are ranked 364th).

Meanwhile, Elkhart was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 51-47 to Buffalo.

Elkhart has also been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. As for Groesbeck, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-14.

Groesbeck came up short against Elkhart in their previous matchup back in January, falling 45-35. Can Groesbeck avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
