Baseball Recap: Forbush Takes a Loss

Forbush fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Mooresville on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 5-4. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Forbush got a good showing from Konner Sizemore, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sizemore has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Colton Moxley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Forbush's record now sits at 9-4. As for Mooresville, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Coming up, Forbush will host West Stokes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mooresville, they are taking a road trip to face off against A.L. Brown at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils are facing the Wonders at the right time seeing as the Wonders are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
