Basketball Game Preview: Fredonia Lynx vs. BASIS Flagstaff Yetis

The Fredonia Lynx will challenge the BASIS Flagstaff Yetis at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. BASIS Flagstaff took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Fredonia, who comes in off a win.

Fredonia will head into Saturday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 23) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 27-25 victory over Patagonia. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lynx have posted since December 16, 2023.

Gracie Castor was Fredonia's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Castor also led the team in rebounds with seven. Neveya Estrada took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Meanwhile, BASIS Flagstaff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Grand Canyon, falling 50-16.

The victory got Fredonia back to even at 3-3. As for BASIS Flagstaff, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Fredonia took their win against BASIS Flagstaff in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 36-16. Does Fredonia have another victory up their sleeve, or will BASIS Flagstaff turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
