Basketball Recap: Monroe Academy Comes Up Short

Monroe Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 56-38 bruising from the Jackson Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-41 back in December of 2025.

Monroe Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Jackson Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

While Monroe Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
