Baseball Recap: Kenedy Takes a Loss

If Kenedy was feeling good fresh off their 18-3 takedown of Woodsboro on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell just short of the Pettus Eagles by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 20-5.

Daniel Pena was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Joel Garcia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Kenedy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Pettus, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-6.

Kenedy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-3 loss against Port Aransas on the 14th. As for Pettus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 17-5 defeat against Refugio on the 14th.
