Volleyball Game Preview: Cameron Comets vs. Ladysmith Lumberjacks

The Cameron Comets will square off against the Ladysmith Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cameron will be strutting in after a victory while Ladysmith will be coming in after a loss.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Cameron and Shell Lake, and Cameron kept the tradition alive. The Comets came out on top against the Lakers by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Lakers: they've now won three in a row.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Cameron was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Ladysmith unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to Hayward. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

While Ladysmith ultimately came up short, they really made Hayward work, particularly in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 19-25, 28-26, 25-21.

Ladysmith's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Cameron, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Cameron came out on top in a nail-biter against Ladysmith in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Lumberjacks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
