Baseball Recap: New Hope-Solebury's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

New Hope-Solebury put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Bristol Warriors. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

John Whelan tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Blake McCagg, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. McCagg is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Joe Rickard, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

New Hope-Solebury's record now sits at 3-0. As for Bristol, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, New Hope-Solebury will face off against Glenwood Springs at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bristol, they are taking a road trip to challenge Perkiomen Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
