East Lake waltzed into their match on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the McKeel Academy Wildcats.

East Lake's offense was headlined by Brielle Taylor and Madelyn Moog, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Jo Jo Wheaton and her 14 assists. Finally, Isabella Pulsipher kept East Lake's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

McKeel Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kenza Benchikh, who had seven digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Presley Johnson, who had eight digs and four assists.

East Lake's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for McKeel Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-6 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Lake will face off against Countryside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McKeel Academy, they will square off against Lakeland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
