Baseball Game Preview: Polytechnic Panthers vs. Temple City Rams

The Polytechnic Panthers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Temple City Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Polytechnic is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Polytechnic challenged Jurupa Valley on Saturday. Polytechnic took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jurupa Valley.

Polytechnic got a good showing from Oliver Marks, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Marks gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Polytechnic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alejandro KohnRabassa, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Temple City fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Pasadena on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Polytechnic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Temple City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4-1.
