Volleyball Game Preview: Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles vs. Serra Cavaliers

The Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles will head out to challenge the Serra Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Verbum Dei Jesuit will be strutting in after a victory while Serra will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Thursday, Verbum Dei Jesuit got the win against St. Bernard by a conclusive 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won three in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Serra lost 3-0 to St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy on Thursday. The Cavaliers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12, 25-7.

Serra's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Verbum Dei Jesuit, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Verbum Dei Jesuit might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Serra when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Verbum Dei Jesuit avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
