Basketball Recap: Highland Comes Up Short

Highland blew Golden Valley out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Golden Valley got their revenge. The Scots fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 53-50. That's two games in a row now that the Scots have lost by exactly three points.

When it comes to explaining why Highland lost, don't look at Nehemiah Croney. Despite the final result, he shot 54% from the field on his way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Croney is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Randy Davenport, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Highland now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Golden Valley, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Highland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 71-42 win against Mira Monte on the 22nd. As for Golden Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-40 defeat against Frontier on the 22nd.
