Baseball Recap: Puyallup Snaps 23-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Puyallup and Lake Washington squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Puyallup had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-1 to the Kangaroos, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Kangaroos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 on Friday.

Jett Reed was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.1 innings pitched. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in April.

At the plate, Puyallup saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Thompson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Puyallup's defeat ended a 23-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 29-2. As for Lake Washington, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-11.

Looking ahead, Puyallup will square off against Jackson at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Timberwolves have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Lake Washington, they will face off against Eastlake at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Kangaroos surely won't give up without a fight.
