Soccer Game Preview: Mandeville vs. Denham Springs

The Mandeville Skippers will face off against the Denham Springs Yellowjackets on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mandeville comes in on four and Denham Springs on three.

Mandeville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Baton Rouge an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Skippers have won ten contests by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Denham Springs earned a 4-2 win over Terrebonne last Wednesday. That's two games straight that the Yellowjackets have won by exactly two goals.

Mandeville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those eight matches. As for Denham Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4-1.

Mandeville was able to grind out a solid win over Denham Springs in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mandeville since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
