Volleyball Recap: Spring Valley Falls Despite Big Games from Ava Temoney and Malaya Dewey

Spring Valley came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Blythewood Bengals, falling 3-0. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Bengals recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-11, 25-8.

Spring Valley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Malaya Dewey, who had 13 digs and one assist, and Ava Temoney, who had five digs. Dewey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Kearsin Allen also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Spring Valley's loss dropped their record down to 11-18-1. As for Blythewood, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven matches and leaves them with a 11-13 record.

Spring Valley has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Ridge View on the 2nd. As for Blythewood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Lugoff-Elgin on the 2nd.
