Basketball Recap: Leroy Comes Up Short

Leroy was the 48-44 winner over McIntosh when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Leroy Bears received a blow on Thursday as they fell 51-34 to the McIntosh Demons. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Demons are ranked 181st).

It was another big night for Chauncey Dixon, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 23 boards for McIntosh. Dixon is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Marley Dixon, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Leroy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for McIntosh, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Leroy has already played their next contest (against Millry), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. McIntosh has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Mobile Christian.
