Softball Recap: Napoleon's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Napoleon can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Wauseon Indians by a score of 12-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-6 back in April.

Kendall Horner (Jr) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Faith Rubinstein (Jr) was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jessica Patterson (Jr), who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Napoleon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Napoleon's victory bumped their record up to 10-14-1. As for Wauseon, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Napoleon will face off against Northview at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Wauseon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
