Baseball Recap: Murray Has No Trouble Against Stansbury

While Murray put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Stansbury. The Murray Spartans put the hurt on the Stansbury Stallions with a sharp 11-0 win. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Stallions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Danny Blaylock looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Murray let Hayden Mount and Conner Whitehead run wild. Mount went 1-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Whitehead got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and two doubles. The dominant performance gave Mount a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Baylor Chappell, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Murray was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stansbury only posted a batting average of .188.

Murray's record now sits at 3-0. As for Stansbury, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Coming up, Murray is headed away from home for the first time to take on Pine View at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pine View will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Murray surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stansbury, they will be taking part in a tournament against Carbon at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Stansbury has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
