Flag Football Game Preview: James Logan Colts vs. Castro Valley Trojans

Two dominant s in Elina Yap and Eva Wesela are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The James Logan Colts will head out on the road to face off against the Castro Valley Trojans at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. James Logan is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

James Logan gave up the first points on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 26-18 victory over Encinal. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Colts' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Jets are ranked 229th).

Meanwhile, Castro Valley strolled past Encinal with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 28-14.

Castro Valley found their leader in freshman Erikka Flores, who rushed for 68 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 114 yards and one TD.

Castro Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Arabella Pey and Wesela. Pey got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

James Logan's record is now 16-1. As for Castro Valley, their record now sits at 14-6.

James Logan didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Castro Valley in their previous matchup back in September, but they still walked away with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
