Cholla came out on top against Rio Rico on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Chargers walked away with an 8-3 win over the Hawks. This was a revenge game for the Chargers: when they faced off against the Hawks on Tuesday, they had to take a 7-6 defeat.

Ricardo Molina and Jesus Martinez made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Molina pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Martinez pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Molina went 2-for-4 with two runs, while Martinez went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Martinez has posted since back in March.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Raymond Molina, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Gregory Ortiz was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Cholla moved to 10-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Rio Rico, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cholla will host Douglas at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rio Rico, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sunnyside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
