Depew had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 9-8  on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past the Maryvale Flyers  9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Wildcats have posted  since May 6, 2024.
  Jacob Scibetta and  Tyler Fryling did most of the damage at the plate:  Scibetta  went 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI, while  Fryling  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI and one  triple. That's the most  RBI  Fryling has posted since back in April.  Daniel Reese also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  triple of the season.
As for Maryvale, their  loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 13-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  defeat they have suffered  since May 1, 2024.
 On Maryvale's side,  Joseph Madden was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with two  RBI and one  run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Luke Altieri, who  went 1-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.
 Coming up, Depew will square off against Pioneer at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Maryvale, they will be playing at home against Nichols  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Flyers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.9  runs per game this season.
