Basketball Game Preview: Spalding Jaguars vs. LaGrange Grangers

The Spalding Jaguars will head out to take on the LaGrange Grangers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Spalding is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Fayette County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Spalding took a blow against Fayette County, falling 73-15. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-6.

Meanwhile, LaGrange was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 71-39 loss at the hands of Troup County. While losing is never fun, the Grangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 417th, while the Tigers are ranked 129th).

LaGrange's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Spalding, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Spalding was able to grind out a solid victory over LaGrange when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 52-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spalding since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
