Basketball Game Preview: Wheeler Eagles vs. Baldwyn Bearcats

Wheeler hasn't had much luck against Baldwyn recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wheeler Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Baldwyn Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. Wheeler knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 games -- so hopefully Baldwyn likes a good challenge.

Wheeler picked up another tournament win on Tuesday. They blew past Jumpertown, posting a 64-17 win. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Cardinals are ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Baldwyn had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 53-41.

Wheeler's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Baldwyn, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
